About the GeneSight test

The GeneSight Psychotropic test is a genetic test that
shows your healthcare provider how your genes may
affect your outcomes with commonly prescribed mental
health medications. The test provides personalized
information about which medications may require dose
adjustments, be less likely to work, or have an increased
risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup.

Is the GeneSight test right for you?

• Has a mental health medication failed you in the past?
• Is your current mental health medication not working?
• Does your mental health medication cause
unwanted side effects?

What is the GeneSight test process?

Step 1 The GeneSight test sample is collected by a
simple cheek swab

Step 2 Your sample is sent to the GeneSight lab for
analysis and your provider will typically receive
your results in about two days

Step 3 Your healthcare provider will review your
results with you at your next appointment
How much does the GeneSight test cost?

• Many insurance plans, including Medicare, often cover
the entire or a significant portion of the cost of the test.

• Financial assistance plans are available for eligible
patients to help cover the cost of the test.

• Interest-free payment plans are offered and allow
